Clinell Chlorhexidine Wash Cloths provide a simple, rinse free, antiseptic body cleansing solution. They are alcohol free and have been designed to clean, disinfect and moisturise the body in one easy step.
Developed with the Royal Free Hospital Infection Control Nurses, Clinell Chlorhexidine Wash Cloths contain an ingredient called 2% Chlorhexidine Gluconate which not only rapidly kills all harmful bacteria that can be found on the skin but also binds to the skin for many hours after application providing long-lasting residual protection.
Unlike conventional soaps and body washes the binding of the Chlorhexidine acts like an invisible antibacterial barrier which keeps killing harmful bacteria on your skin for many hours, giving you an extra level of protection during your hospital stay.
Each pack contains 4 large wipes for an easy, full body wash and provides an ideal solution for: ICU/CCU bed bathing and pre-admission bathing. They can also be warmed in a microwave before use for a warm bathing experience.
The product is presented in a desk-ready tray ideal for the pre-admission clinic desk.

HOW TO USE CLINELL CHLORHEXIDINE WASH CLOTHS:
Step 1: Have a regular shower or bath washing your hair and body (night and morning) with normal soap.
Step 2: After your shower or bath, dry your body with a clean towel.
Step 3: Either warm the packet of wipes in a microwave for 15 seconds or use un-warmed.
Step 4: Open a packet and take one cloth wipe out.
Step 5: Use the first wipe on your neck and arms, finishing with armpits. Avoid contact with your face.
Step 6: Use the second wipe on your armpits again, your chest area, and sides of your body.
Step 7: Use the third wipe on your groin and buttock area.
Step 8: Use the fourth wipe on your legs including feet and inbetween toes.
Step 9: Discard all the used wipes in the bin and let your body air dry.
Step 10: You may feel a sticky sensation - this is the Chlorhexidine binding to your skin. After a few minutes this sensation will go away.
1. What are the ingredients of this wipe?
This wipe contains 2% Chlorhexidine Gluconate BP, as well as skin conditioners and moisturisers.
2. What are the uses of this wipe?
These wipes are used for preadmission patients prior to them coming into hospital. They can also be used for ITU bed baths on a regular basis.
3. Why use Chlorhexidine?
Chlorhexidine (2-4%) has a good activity against most vegetative bacteria, yeasts and enveloped viruses. Chlorhexidine is a new biocide that is being recommended by many different guidelines. It sticks to the skin leaving a residual antimicrobial action and this leaves a protective barrier on the skin of patients.
4. Can the wipes be microwaved before use?
Yes they can. Place the whole pack of wipes in the microwave on a setting of 750W for 15 seconds. Please ensure that the wipes are not too hot before using them on skin.
