Tournistrip was developed by healthcare professionals as a direct result of an unmet clinical need, that being a disposable tourniquet that prevented the cross contamination potential of reusable tourniquets, whilst overcoming the product downsides of other disposable tourniquets.

Tournistrip is the only tourniquet to have been trialled. This involved two London teaching hospitals, 226 patients and 20 phlebotomists.
The results were overwhelmingly positive:
- Professional, comfortable and did not pinch their skin
- Phlebotomists saw it as an alternative to their 'gold standard' conventional tourniquets
- 78% preferred Tournistrip to their current tourniquets
